Heavy rain and thunderstorms move in for Easter Sunday, with a warming trend to follow for the new week..
Showers and scattered thunderstorms that hit Saturday night will continue into Easter Sunday and last throughout the day.
According to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Courtney Spamer, "At times, the rain may get very heavy." Total rain amounts are expected to be approximately an inch.

Since there will be a significant amount of rain in a short period of time, there may also be potential risks of flooding. Holiday travelers should be on alert.
Another storm system is expected to move into Dallas early in the new week. The system will bring more waves of thunderstorms that will also coincide with much warmer weather.
Temperatures will skyrocket out of the 60s and into the lower 80s at the start of the new week. The temperature average for this time of the year is in the lower 70s.

The heat and humidity will bring a chance of a thunderstorm each afternoon through the middle of the week.
"The good news is that none of this weather is expected to shift into the severe zone, so people in the area should remain safe," Spamer said.
