After a brief cooldown, very warm and humid weather will bounce back in New York City during the Labor Day weekend.
High temperatures around the region, including at the U.S. Open, will be in the 80s F Saturday through Labor Day and could flirt with the 90-degree mark on Sunday and Labor Day.
For people heading to the beach, the surf will diminish as Cristobal moves away over the North Atlantic.
Much of the time will be free of rain this weekend. However, there will be spotty showers and thunderstorms popping up in the building warmth and humidity.
The most likely time for long-lasting, disruptive downpours will be on Labor Day.

Indications are that there will be more warm, rather than cool, days through the middle of September, which will be a bit of a switch from most of the summer.
