The Pittsburgh area will have a turbulent stretch of intermittent thunderstorms and sun for the next several days, including storms that could impact Labor Day weekend plans.
A surge of warmth and humidity will set the stage for the stormy weekend.
Temperatures will soar into the upper 80s for Saturday. While the warmth will ease some for Sunday and Monday, humidity will fuel additional thunderstorms.
Sunday will likely be the most active day of the holiday weekend.
Conditions could be unsettled for the first Pittsburgh Panthers game of the college football season on Saturday afternoon at Heinz Field. The Panthers are set to take on the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens at a noon kickoff.
Overnight skies starting Saturday will also feature storms and the weather will remain humid. Lows are expected to be in the upper 60s.
A shower or thunderstorm will still be around on Monday, threatening to disrupt picnics, parades and other festivities.
