National Weather Forecast for September 8,2013 from weatherunderground.com

Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,September 8,2013.

Wet weather will continue to impact the northern Plains and parts of the Rocky Mountains Sunday, while a low pressure system will bring cool temperatures and showers to the Northeast. Monsoonal moisture will also provide afternoon thunderstorms for parts of the Southwest and Great Basin.

As a lingering low pressure system makes its way out of the northern Rockies, chances of severe thunderstorms will continue to develop around eastern Montana and into the Dakotas. This region will experience strong to severe thunderstorms, along with localized flooding near rivers and watersheds. Gusty winds and chances of hail will be possible until the system propagates East.

The Southwest and parts of the Great Basin will continue to experience afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday, with a chance of flash floods along mountains and desert valleys. Burn areas from recent wildfires should be closely monitored, as these areas are more vulnerable to flash flooding.

As a result of the cold front passage on yesterday, the Northeast will experience cooler than average temperatures on Sunday. This system will also be accompanied by showers and spotty thunderstorms throughout the day. The wet weather is expected to impact a large portion of New England before moving off of the coast. Temperatures will continue to stay 5 to 10 degrees below average for this time of year. Chances of showers and thunderstorms will also be present along the Texas coast through Sunday.
