As the time on the end-of-summer clock continues to count down, steamy and warm air around Chicago lately has been making it feel more like July than the start of September.
As a potent cold front approaches from the Upper Midwest, a few showers and thunderstorms will cross Chicago through Sunday evening.
There is concern for one or two of the thunderstorms to turn severe with damaging winds and hail.

Though not everyone will see a shower or thunderstorm, those who plan to be out and about through Sunday evening may find themselves reaching for the umbrella.
This cold front will sweep through the Chicago area on Labor Day, ushering in a much less humid, refreshing air mass on a cool northwesterly breeze.
