Chill to ease across Germany this week as dry weather holds

A dominating area of high pressure centered over eastern and central Europe will provide dry weather for most of Germany through Friday.
Along with the continuing dry weather, milder air from the Atlantic Ocean will slowly replace the recent arctic chill.
Temperatures failed to climb above 0 C (32 F) in Berlin and Munich on Sunday, but highs will approach 9 C (48 F) in both cities by Friday.

The normal high temperature across much of Germany in early December is 4-5 C (39-41 F).
This change to unseasonable warmth will last through the weekend before cooler, seasonable air arrives next week.
Dry weather will prevail across much of Germany through Friday. The exception will be far northern Germany where there can be a few brief showers on Thursday and Friday.

Any shower will generally last less than 30 minutes, and no travel delays are expected.

A cold front moving across Germany this weekend will bring a more widespread rainfall and allow cooler air to follow early next week.
The primary storm track next week will feature storms arriving from the west with repeated chances for rain and gusty winds.
High pressure will settle back over Germany next week bringing another extended period of generally tranquil weather along with seasonable temperatures.
