A devastating F5 tornado tore through Flint, Michigan on June 8,1953. The Beecher district was the hardest hit and the tornado was responsible for 116 deaths in the region. The deaths place this tornado as the 10th deadliest on record in the U.S. The tornado was on the ground for an incredible 27 miles.
