Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,June 11,2016

A low pressure system will impact the northern Plains on Saturday, while a separate system moves over the Great Lakes.

A trough of low pressure will inch over the West Coast. This system will bring cooler weather to parts of the Pacific Northwest and the Southwest, and will also produce scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over parts of the West Coast. High elevation snow will be possible in the Cascades and the Rockies due to cooler air over the region. Just to the east, a low pressure system will deepen over the upper Intermountain West. As this system slides across the northern high Plains, it will produce strong to severe thunderstorms in the north central part of the country. Severe thunderstorms will be possible in eastern Montana, western North Dakota and northwest South Dakota. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, dangerous straight line winds and isolated tornadoes. In addition, heavy rain will bring threats of flash flooding to northeast Montana and northwest North Dakota.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system will push east southeastward over southeast Canada and the upper Great Lakes. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will ignite strong to severe thunderstorms over the Midwest, the lower Great Lakes, the northern Mid-Atlantic and southern New England. These thunderstorms will also be capable of producing large hail, dangerous straight line winds and isolated tornadoes. Just to the south, showers and thunderstorms will move onshore over the Gulf Coast and the Deep South.
