Sunny skies and pleasant weather conditions will remain in Minneapolis through Thursday, but by Friday, stormy conditions will take hold of the region.
"A storm system combined with warm and humid air will set the stage for strong thunderstorms," AccuWeather Meteorologist Jordan Root said.
Residents with outdoor plans should head indoors immediately at the first sign of thunder or lightning.
Daytime high temperatures will remain in the mid-80s F through late week before shifting to the upper 80s F over the weekend. Temperatures in the mid-80s F are typical for this time of year in Minneapolis.
After the storms on Friday, residents will be pleased to know that calmer weather is in store for the weekend, although it will be more humid.

"Folks who are worried about Friday plans being ruined due to thunderstorms will be happy to know that the weekend will feature dry weather," Root said.
With temperatures approaching 90 F by Sunday, Twins fans heading to Target Field for the series against the New York Yankees will certainly want to drink plenty of water to help beat the heat.
