Following more 90-degree Fahrenheit days with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures topping 100 F, less extreme conditions are in the offing for New York City starting on Wednesday.
A cool front will push through the region Tuesday night and will be preceded by spotty thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. Storms during Tuesday evening could be more robust.
Temperatures typically range from a low in the upper 60s to a high in the middle 80s during the latter part of July.
The weather predicted should still be fine for swimming, golfing and most other outdoor activities. Nearby surf temperatures are in the 70s.

Most locations will be free of rain from Wednesday through Saturday which should make for ideal weather for outdoor painting and construction projects.
The chance of spotty thunderstorms will increase on Sunday.
Meanwhile, as drier air and typical warmth settle in, AccuWeather meteorologists will be monitoring an area of disturbed weather along the southeastern United States coast beginning this weekend for potential tropical development.
