To further enhance the real-time coverage of weather events across the world, AccuWeather has launched an innovative crowdsourcing feature, AccUcast™.
Available through the AccuWeather universal iOS app, users can now share live reports from their area. The feature presents the ability to share current conditions including clear, partly cloudy, cloudy, rain, snow, ice and hail. Users can also report hazard conditions such as damaging winds, slippery roads, flooding and reduced visibility.
"Our mission is to personalize the weather by making it more localized and more interactive for all of our users," AccuWeather President of Digital Media Steven Smith said.

AccUcast is the only crowdsourcing tool with live weather maps that provide current weather conditions submitted by users in a global animation display.
"By combining AccuWeather's Superior Accuracy™ with real-world observations from our users, we are empowering people worldwide to participate in weather forecasting to make the best decisions that improve and protect their lives," Smith said.

By zooming out from their location, users can span the globe for other reports. By tapping the report icon, users will be able to see the time submitted as well as the location. After initiating a report, the coordinating icon will appear on the map within three minutes. The report will remain live on the map for six hours.
In order to distinguish the users report, a gray icon will appear next to the report icon.
AccUcast joins MinuteCast® as an additional resource during weather events in order to protect lives and save property.
