The 2014 Open Championship begins Thursday, July 17, and lasts through Sunday, July 20 at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England.
The tournament will get underway with dry conditions, but the threat of storms will linger for the remaining three rounds.
AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Eric Leister, said Thursday will stay dry with unseasonably warm temperatures.
"There will be the threat for a shower or thunderstorm on Friday, but a greater risk for rain and thunderstorms [is] on Saturday," Leister said.
Temperatures Thursday through Saturday will stay in the mid-70s, (23-25 C) while Sunday will see temperatures closer to 70 F (21 C).

The threat for a lingering shower will remain into Sunday's final round.
Chances are, in the event of a weather delay, players who are struggling will welcome a break, but those playing well will not because they could lose their rhythm.
"It's a part of their world, they grow used to it, [but] you never like it," Penn State University Men's Golf Coach Greg Nye, told AccuWeather.com.

Nye told AccuWeather.com that it's a challenge to resume play, not only from a physical standpoint, but from a mental standpoint as well.
"They try to build that back up through a warmup, but that's a very hard thing to do, because it's not only a physical thing, but it's getting your mind back in that competitive place that it was at," Nye said.
