Severe Weather Danger to Return to Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh will be faced with rounds of violent thunderstorms to start the new week.
A surge of warm and humid air following the holiday weekend will set the stage for severe thunderstorms to target Pittsburgh both Monday and Tuesday.
The second half of each day is when the strongest thunderstorms will rumble and threaten to cause some damages and hazards to residents.
Damaging winds is the main hazard with Monday's violent thunderstorms. Compared to Monday, more numerous severe thunderstorms are likely to erupt Tuesday afternoon and unleash powerful winds, hail and flooding downpours.

Any thunderstorm each day can also produce frequent lightning. Remember, you are close enough to get struck by lightning if you hear thunder.
After a lingering shower or thunderstorm Wednesday morning, humidity will lower in the afternoon as drier air works into western Pennsylvania.
