After Hurricane Arthur battered its way up the East Coast, New York City will have a welcome stretch of sunshine for the next several days.
Temperatures will continue to rise and hit near 90 F early next week. The higher temperatures will be accompanied with a humid feel for some days.

Overnight temperatures will follow the same trend and could even reach the mid-70s toward the start of next week.
Thunderstorms could reappear midweek.
For many Americans heading to beaches this week, Hurricane Arthur could leave rough surf conditions and rip currents behind. Those heading to Jersey beaches are encouraged to listen to lifeguards and beach officials as some waters may still be choppy and unpredictable.

For many other outdoor activities planned this weekend, those spending extended amount of time in the sun should take proper precaution and apply sunscreen frequently. As temperatures rise, it is important to stay hydrated as well.
Warmer weather will stay consistent through much of next week.
