Sunshine will prevail for the most part this weekend in the Los Angeles area, but more humid conditions will lead to some thunderstorms in the region.
The higher humidity is kicking off the monsoon season in the Southwest. The increase in humidity will be most noticeable across interior valleys in comparison to the city though.
Thunderstorms will accompany the more humid air, but they will stay out of the city.

"Thunderstorms will roam the Upper Deserts this weekend, including the Antelope and Apple Valley areas," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist and West Coast Expert Ken Clark.
There will be low clouds to start on Sunday, especially right along the coast. However, the clouds will give way to sunshine later in the day.
Low clouds will remain in the area Monday through Wednesday and each day they will give way to sun. The low cloud coverage could result in travel delays for travelers using Los Angeles International Airport.
Temperatures will remain slightly below normal through Wednesday with highs in the 70s.
