DC: Another Cooldown to Follow Midweek Storms

Just when it was starting to feel like the dog days of summer again, fresh cooler and less humid air will settle over the Boston area for Thursday and Friday.
The warm and steamy air that briefly surged into eastern Massachusetts will depart on Thursday, causing temperatures to be held to the lower 80s.
The change will come following the passage of a cold front and its locally heavy thunderstorms from late Wednesday.
A couple of showers and thunderstorms will linger through Thursday.

While temperatures will rebound to the middle 80s for Friday, humidity will be noticeably lower and sunshine will prevail.
The weather will be perfect for outdoor sports and activities. The air will still be warm enough for swimming, but more bearable for those without air conditioning.
After a winter with above-average heating bills from the Midwest to the Northeast, the weather will continue to work toward keeping cooling costs down through the end of July.

Another dry day will unfold for Saturday before a spike in humidity will return the chance for a shower or thunderstorm on Sunday.
Additional showers and thunderstorms will follow for Monday before yet another dose of Canadian air arrives next week.
