Following a cooler Independence Day, Chicago will have a stretch of sunshine and warmer weather for the next several days.
Temperatures will continue to rise into the low 80s early next week.

Overnight temperatures will follow the same trend and could reach the upper 60s toward the start of next week.
The rise in temperature will pull the area closer to the seasonal average. Skies will be mostly sunny with some clouds. Thunderstorms could reappear Sunday into Monday. Those storm threats could linger into midweek.
With many outdoor activities planned this weekend, those spending extended amount of time in the sun should take proper precaution and apply sunscreen frequently. As temperatures rise, it is important to stay hydrated as well.

Fans headed to U.S. Cellular Field should see pleasant baseball weather as the White Sox take on the Seattle Mariners in a three-game home series, though stray thunderstorms could make an impact for Sunday's game.
Warmer weather will stay consistent through much of next week.
