Chicago will see a stretch of sunny weather with comfortable temperatures over the next several days, including Independence Day.
Temperatures will hover from the low to upper 70s with a pleasant high near the 75 F mark for July Fourth, lower than typical averages.

Skies will be mostly sunny with some clouds drifting in and out.
After days of storms and severe weather, the sunshine should come as a welcomed break, especially in time for the holiday.
Those planning on spending extended amounts of time in the sun should take proper precautions and continue to apply sunscreen throughout the day.
For the Navy Pier fireworks on Friday night, clear skies should make for ideal viewing. Evening temperatures will drop to the upper 50s, so those taking in the sparkling display will want to bring a jacket.

The sunny skies will persist into the rest of the weekend until a chance of a thunderstorm pops up Sunday evening. There is a chance more evening storms could last into the start of next week.
More thunderstorms may move in towards midweek.
