After a pleasant stretch of weather earlier this week for Wimbledon, cloudy skies and some rain dampened the courts Saturday but did not cause any major problems for the Women's singles final.
Thursday and Friday were the warmest days of the week with the high temperature reaching 81 F (27 C) both days.
Tennis Channel analyst Justin Gimelstob noted, "when the weather is warm, especially for long stretches, the courts get harder and the balls bounce higher, creating a dynamic where the ball picks up speed upon contact with the court surface."
That phenomenon will be less of a concern this weekend as both days will see highs near 70 F (21 C).

Even though the Centre Court roof will keep matches going through any adverse weather, AccuWeather.com Eric Leister reported that if the roof needs to be closed it will create a different environment for players.
Gimelstob added, "When the roof closes, Wimbledon becomes an indoor event with a completely controlled environment, no sun nor wind which favors the more aggressive player."
The chances of having to close the roof this weekend look fairly low so this will likely not be a worry either.

According to the UK Met Office, only five tournaments in the 127-year history of Wimbledon have escaped rain with the last such year being 1993.
