The massive Halloween storm of 1991, otherwise known as the perfect
storm, was the result of an interaction between a hurricane and an ocean
storm. As the two systems met off the East coast, a tremendous amount
of energy from Hurricane Grace transferred to the ocean storm, forming
the powerful slow-moving storm.
