With the onset of summer comes warmer waters and higher populations congregating at beaches. While the seasonable weather can lead to some fun summer vacations, it can also increase some unpleasant summer threats. Creatures like jellyfish and sharks are more common at more beaches and warmer waters lead to bacteria growth increases.

The water can bring other significant dangers, such as rip currents. Coastal communities must also be on alert for flooding and potential tsunamis or storm surge.
