While the new week will start off with the chance for an afternoon thunderstorm, pleasant conditions and slightly cooler temperatures will stick around through midweek.
A shower or thunderstorm will be around in parts of the area on Monday, but otherwise, there will be times of clouds and sun, with breezy conditions and highs around 88 F.
In the event of a pop-up shower, there could be delays for the Atlanta Braves game against the San Diego Padres at Turner Field on Monday. The game is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. EDT.
By Tuesday, things will cool down a bit, as temperatures hover around 82 F and it will be mostly sunny and nice with less humidity. Tuesday night will be clear and cool with temperatures approaching the record low of 61 F set in 1936.
The next chance for showers or a thunderstorm will come in the afternoon on Thursday. The chance for a thunderstorm will remain for both Friday and Saturday afternoon.
