Thunderstorms will move into the Chicago area later this week, and the threat for storms will remain into the weekend.
Temperatures will begin to increase on Wednesday as highs sit in the upper 70s, with partly sunny conditions. However, the threat of a passing shower remains in the afternoon.
The Chicago Cubs will host the Colorado Rockies in the third game of a four-game series Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. CDT. For Thursday's 1:20 p.m. matinee, there could be weather delays, due to thunderstorms in parts of the area.
The chance for showers and thunderstorms will remain on Friday and Saturday as highs hover around 80 F.
For those attending the Lollapalooza Music Festival from Aug. 1-3 at Grant Park, the storms could be a detriment. Concertgoers who hear thunder should seek shelter immediately.
Conditions look good for the last day of the festival, as highs remain in the low 80s along with partly sunny skies.
