Pittsburgh Faces Travel-Disrupting Snowstorm

While the worst of a major snowstorm will bypass Pittsburgh, enough snow to cause disruptions to travel and daily activities will come through Sunday night.
The storm is expected to bring 3 to 6 inches to the Pittsburgh area. Amounts will top 6 inches toward the West Virginia border but will fall short of 3 inches north of Interstate 80.
Snow began prior to daybreak Sunday. The worst travel conditions are expected into Sunday night.
Several inches of snow is still enough to cause slick travel on area roads and interstates.

Lengthy flight delays and many cancellations are expected well ahead of and during the storm, since it will move from west to east across the nation this weekend and impact many major hubs.
Motorists planning to travel to the south on interstates 68 and 79 should prepare for even more adverse conditions. That is where the heaviest snow will fall, potentially too fast for snow plows to keep up.
