After a brief bout of thunderstorms moving across Dallas late in the week, a mild weekend is in store for the city.
"The best chance for severe weather will be Thursday," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "Early into late morning we'll see thunderstorms start to fire."
Edwards added that the main threat during the day will be hail and damaging winds with gusts approaching 60 mph during the storms.
"It will be a very windy day, and quite a warm one as well," he said, adding after the storms pass, winds will remain at 35 mph.
Temperatures will rise into the mid-80s, around 15 degrees above the normal for the day.
"The biggest threat for severe weather will be through mid-afternoon before the thunderstorms shift east of Dallas," Edwards said.
By Friday, temperatures will slide into the low-80s with a chance of a thunderstorm before the weekend.
"That leads to a very nice weekend," he said.
