Despite recent cold air, a warmup is in store for Chicago right in time for the first official day of spring.
Beginning Tuesday, temperatures will rise nearly 15 degrees, reaching into the low 50s even with cloudy skies.
The city's next chance for some precipitation will come on Wednesday, as some rain or snow showers plague some spots in the region. Breezy winds will also impact the region on Wednesday with wind gusts up to nearly 30 mph possible.
While weather during the daytime hours will be warmer, overnight temperatures will still be chilly with lows ranging in the 20s and 30s.
For the first official day of spring on Thursday, March 20, 2014, the air will feel chillier, as temperatures hover in the mid-40s. However, partly sunny skies should make outdoor activities bearable for those outside celebrating the end of winter.
