In the wake of the recent snowstorm that stayed south of New England, temperatures are forecast to reach well into the 40s late in the week as the wild ride continues with the March weather.
The storm brought a general 6-12 inches of snow over Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland, locally heavy snow over southern New Jersey and grazed southern Pennsylvania Sunday into Monday.
While temperatures will rebound as the week progresses throughout the Northeast, the warmup will be slow during the first few hours in the wake of the storm. Highs are forecast to be in the 30s on Tuesday.
Damp, drippy weather is forecast Wednesday night into Thursday.

Temperatures will reach into the 40s on Thursday as spring officially arrives in the afternoon.
The nicest day of the week will be Friday, when bright sunshine and light winds are in store.
Some rain may return to the area on Saturday.
Even though the region will be officially done with winter, the weather may not abide by change of seasons.
Another system is being watched for possible snow during the middle of next week over the for part of the Northeast. However, at this early stage the track, dividing line between rain and snow, and the magnitude of the storm is uncertain.
