Cold air will have a grip on the United Kingdom into Thursday before milder air returns by the weekend.
High pressure centered over the country will allow the cold air to hold for several days. This area of high pressure will also result in largely dry weather.
Daytime temperatures will be near to slightly below normal into Thursday with highs ranging from 4-7 C (39-45 F) in Manchester and 5-8 C (41-47 F) in London.
The lowest temperatures of the week are expected on Wednesday night across much of the U.K.
In most locations away from the immediate coast, temperatures will fall below zero C (32 F). The coldest areas of southern England could record temperatures falling to -4 C (25 F).

A frontal boundary crossing the U.K. from Thursday night into Friday will bring a period of rain and also end the chill as milder Atlantic air spreads over the country.
This milder air will continue to build over the weekend as temperatures climb several degrees above normal throughout the U.K.
High temperatures will be near 10 C (50 F) throughout much of the country on both Saturday and Sunday.
This change to milder weather will last into next week; however, a storm from the Atlantic will bring the return of rain and gusty winds early in the week.
