The temperature roller-coaster ride will continue into next week for the New York City area.
Daytime highs will vary from the mid-50s at their highest to the low 30s at their lowest.
In the wake of a major winter storm, Thursday's high temperature dropped about 30 degrees in New York City.
"It's the typical roller-coaster ride of March," AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said. "March is notorious for huge temperature swings."

New York City temperatures this time of year are in the upper 40s during the day and in the low 30s at night.
As of Wednesday, March 12, 2014, temperatures are running 4 degrees F below normal for the month.
There are rain chances for Friday night into Saturday and Wednesday, but it will be dry for the remainder of the next seven days.
