A welcome stretch of springlike weather this weekend and into next week for the United Kingdom and western Europe.

A major storm will pass well north of the U.K. this weekend and will just have a glancing blow for Scotland in terms of wind and rain. However, Wales and England should be far enough south that they experience mild temperatures with highs both days above 16 C (60s F) and see a good amount of sunshine.

An area of high pressure over western Europe providing dry weather with unseasonable warmth will expand to the north and west after this weekend's storm completely exits. This feature will dominate for much, if not all, of next week and will allow for a stretch of dry and mild weather.
