Pittsburgh: Week to End on a Warm Note

In the wake of the snowstorm that grazed southern Pennsylvania and clobbered much of West Virginia, temperatures are forecast to reach the 50s during much of the balance of the week as the wild ride continues with the March weather around Pittsburgh.
While temperatures will rebound as the week progresses throughout the region, the warmup will be slow through Wednesday, especially over the Appalachians just to the east of the city. Portions of Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia may have an icy start to the day.

Spring officially arrives Thursday afternoon.
The nicest day of the week will be Friday, when bright sunshine could send the temperature to near 60 F for the first full day of spring.
Some rain may return to the area on Saturday.
Even though the region will be officially done with winter, the weather may not abide by change of seasons.
Another system is being watched for possible snow during the middle of next week over the mid-Atlantic and central Appalachians in general. However, at this early stage, the track, the dividing line between rain and snow and the magnitude of the storm are uncertain.
Regardless of the storm potential, cold air will return next week.
