NYC: Frigid Air, Rapid Freeze to Follow Storm

After a springlike start to the week in New York City, a sharp change to frigid weather comes Wednesday night into Thursday.
"While a shower or a gusty downpour cannot be ruled out Wednesday afternoon and early evening, the worst rain and gusty winds should hold off until after the evening rush," said Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek.
Rain may end as a brief period of snow Wednesday night as temperatures plummet below freezing.
The subfreezing air will quickly freeze up any wet or slushy roadways and sidewalks which could make for a slippery Thursday morning commute.

"Car doors and locks may freeze up as the frigid weather moves in," said Dombek.
