The reappearance of the polar vortex means the return of frigid air and a little snow at times in the Chicago area this week.
A weak storm can bring a coating to an inch of snow to part of the area during Tuesday. Another weak storm can bring a bit of snow on Friday.
The coldest air in the outbreak will move in starting on Wednesday.
High temperatures most days will be in the teens Tuesday through Friday. Nighttime lows most nights will be within a few degrees of zero. During the coldest nights, Tuesday night and Thursday night, temperatures may drop well below zero.

Brisk winds will result in AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures dipping well below zero at times.
