Cold air will have a grip on the United Kingdom for the first half of the week before milder air returns by the weekend.
High pressure will be centered over the country allowing the cold air to hold for several days. This area of high pressure will also result in largely dry weather.
Daytime temperatures will be near to slightly below normal Tuesday through Thursday with highs ranging from 4-7 C (40-47 F) in Manchester and 5-8 C (41-46 F) in London.
Following a cold morning on Tuesday, a milder night will follow before the lowest temperatures of the week are expected on Wednesday night.
In most locations away from the immediate coast, temperatures will fall below 0 C (32 F) across the entire U.K.

A frontal boundary crossing the U.K. Thursday night into Friday will bring a period of rain and also end the chill as milder Atlantic air spreads over the country.
This milder air will continue to build over the weekend as temperatures climb several degrees above normal throughout the U.K.
High temperatures will be near 10 C (50 F) throughout much of the country by Sunday.
This change to milder weather will last into Monday before an Atlantic storm brings cooler air along with rain and gusty winds on Tuesday and Wednesday.
