Following a cold start to the weekend, temperatures will rebound early next week.
More seasonable air will return due to a change in the weather pattern.
“Temperatures are expected to climb, especially in the western regions,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.
Afternoon temperatures will return to above freezing starting on Sunday and likely continuing through the week. While the air will not bring widespread above-average warmth, it will help to ease some of the biting cold from recent days.
A flow of warmer Atlantic air will accompany several storm systems that pass well to the north next week.
The temperature in Düsseldorf is expected to rise above 5 C (41 F), closer to normal for this time of the year.
Frankfurt's temperature is forecast to return to near normal on Sunday through the middle of the week. Munich, facing some of the coldest air since 2012, will record low temperatures above -6 C (21 F) at night.
“The most noticeable change will come to western Germany while the eastern half may still have chilly air for a time,” Roys said.
