Tranquil weather is expected later this week across the United Kingdom, bringing warm and dry conditions for the 2017 Grand National Festival in Liverpool.
This will be a stark contrast to last year when rain fell on all three days of the festival, resulting in soft to heavy going.
High pressure centered over the U.K. will shield the country from any significant weather into the weekend.
Mild weather will prevail throughout the festival with increasing temperatures each day.
Cloud will be mixed with sunny spells on Thursday as the festival gets underway. Temperatures will climb to around 12 C (54 F) after a chilly start to the day.
Thick overcast conditons are expected on Friday morning before yielding to some sunny spells for Ladies Day. Light winds are expected and temperatures will reach 13 C (56 F) in the afternoon.
“The best of sunshine will be on Saturday for the running of the Grand National,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.

Winds will shift to the south, pulling milder air northward and breaking up any clouds.
As a result, there will be frequent sunny spells and temperatures will hit their peak on Saturday.
Temperatures will approach 17 C (62 F) for the running of the Grand National at 5:15 p.m., local time. Winds will generally be light throughout the afternoon.
