Here's the US National Weather Forecast for Friday,September 28,2012,as of 7:30AM,EDT/ 4:30AM,PDT,September 28,2012,from weatherunderground.com,enjoy:
Showers and thunderstorms will persist across the East and Southern
Plains on Friday. A slow moving cold front will drop southward from the
Ohio River Valley and the Northeast, bringing showers and thunderstorms
to the Mid-Atlantic states and the Tennessee Valley. The system will
pull moisture northward from the Gulf of Mexico, supporting widespread
thunderstorm activity. The tail end of this front extends westward over
the Lower Mississippi Valley and into the Southern Plains. At the same
time, a trough of low pressure strengthens as it moves off the Central
and Southern Rockies and into the Southern Plains. This will help in
producing strong storms as it brings addition energy into the region,
while also pulling more moisture in from the Gulf. This will produce
heavy showers and thunderstorms across Oklahoma and Texas throughout the
day. Rainfall totals will range around 3 inches, up to 5 inches
possible in isolated areas.
North of this system, the Northern Tier states remain dry on Friday as
high pressure builds over the Great Lakes. Expect chilly Fall conditions
to persist across the far North.
Meanwhile out West, high pressure over the West Coast will create
another dry and warm day for California and the Pacific Northwest. In
the north, a cold front approaches the Pacific Northwest from the Gulf
of Alaska. This will reach Oregon and Washington by Friday night,
bringing cooler conditions but rain showers are not anticipated.
