Tropical Storm Lisa to Face Wind Shear Wall in the Atlantic Ocean

September 21,2016
Tropical Storm Lisa, the 12th named storm of the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season, has a short period of time to gain strength before a pair of familiar foes for tropical cyclones begin to take their toll.
Lisa was first named Tuesday morning after the winds in Tropical Depression Thirteen reached tropical storm force (39 mph or greater).
This system was located over 600 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, as of Wednesday night.

Current Storm Information
Lisa will move northwest into the central Atlantic Ocean during the next several days, according to the National Hurricane Center forecast.
Therefore, this system is no threat to either the Caribbean basin or the U.S. East Coast.

Projected Path
As the system gains latitude, increasing wind shear and dry air should limit its intensification, and will likely lead to Lisa's weakening into the weekend.
