Tropical Depression Seventeen-E has formed off the western coast of Mexico and is expected to move northwestward, parallel to the coast of Mexico over the next several days.

- Tropical Depression Seventeen-E has formed about 430 miles south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
- The depression is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm Paine on Sunday.
- T.D. 17-E is expected to remain weak due to increasingly cooler waters by Monday and Tuesday.
- Enhanced surf is expected to be the main threat from this depression as it gets closer to northwestern Mexico on Thursday as a remnant low.
