Julia remains a tropical depression off the Southeast coast where it will slowly coast toward the Carolinas for the next few days.
Julia could provide some breezy winds near the coast and offshore.
The circulation of Julia is hanging on to just enough cloud cover to remain a tropical cyclone, but this is expected to change tonight. Further weakening of Julia is anticipated on Saturday and Julia could become a remnant low soon.

Latest Status and Impact From Julia

Tropical Depression Julia was located about 255 miles southeast of Charleston, South Carolina, as of Saturday evening.

Current Storm Status
Julia, or its remnants, is forecast to linger off the Southeast coast for a few days before finally dissipating.

Current Radar
The threat for widespread heavy rain on the Southeast coast from Julia has diminished with the center now moving farther east. Charleston, South Carolina, saw 3.67 inches of rain from Julia on Wednesday.
All beachgoers are urged to stay out of the water along the coastal Carolinas due to a high risk of rip currents at times. Minor coastal flooding and high surf are also possible.
Julia is the first tropical cyclone on record to be named while over land in Florida, according to Dr. Phil Klotzbach.
