Severe Storms Down Trees and Knock Out Power to Thousands in New England

A line of severe storms with strong wind gusts downed trees and power lines in parts of New England Sunday morning knocking out power to thousands.
The most numerous reports of wind damage are across southern New Hampshire along with western and central Massachusetts.
In the town of Weare, New Hampshire, multiple trees have fallen and power outages were reported.
Eversource said that more than 22,000 of their customers were without power in New Hampshire as of late Sunday morning, mainly in southern parts of the state.
Several counties in Massachusetts have also seen downed trees, including Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire and Worcester counties. This photo below shows some of the tree and power line damage in Hubbardston, Massachusetts.

At 11:00 a.m. EDT Sunday, more than 18,000 customers were without power in Massachusetts, according to MEMA.
Boston's Logan airport clocked a wind gust to 47 mph as the storms raced through late Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service said that since trees in the region are stressed from drought, they are more prone to damage when storms with gusty winds move through.
By Sunday afternoon, the cold front responsible for the storms should sweep off the coast, ending the severe weather threat.
