Wettest May on Record Spills into June: Constant wet weather plaguing NYC area for the past 5 weeks and counting

Thanks to the Jet Stream being stuck in a "ridge in the west, trough in the east", pattern since the beginning of March 2017,while the Western US has experienced warm,dry weather,the opposite has been true east of the Rockies and in the water-logged,rain-weary Northeastern US and the New York tristate area in particular.This has definitely been the case over the last 5 weeks since the beginning of May 2017 as the NYC area has been inundated with one low pressure system after another causing it to be rainy nearly 40% of the time.Here's the rainfall stats for White Plains,NY,in suburban Westchester County,as of 2:30PM,EDT,June 5,2017 from accuweather.com:
