Daily showers to dampen Germany this week

After a dry and mild Saturday, conditions will take a wet and cool turn going into the new week.
While Saturday featured highs more typical of April, storm systems will dampen Germany on Sunday and through most of the coming week.
On Sunday, low pressure arriving from France will cause rain to spread across western parts of the country. Residents in Cologne, Frankfurt and Stuttgart will all face occasional rain on Sunday afternoon.
Showers will spread into eastern Germany on Sunday night.
Umbrellas will be needed as showers will dampen most communities on a nearly daily basis. This includes Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich.
Widespread heavy and flooding rainfall is not expected. However, showers will be numerous across the country and periods of steadier rain are possible in southwestern Germany early in the week.

The air will be cold enough for snow showers to fly in the Bavarian Alps, Black Forest and in the highest hills throughout the country early in the week.
While it will be unsettled, this storm track should prevent the arrival of damaging wind from France.
As the unsettled weather sweeps in, cool air will return.
Temperatures on Sunday will be held 4-8 degrees Celsius (8-12 degrees Fahrenheit) under Saturday’s highs. However, the expected highs of 9-12 C (48-54 F) outside of Saarland and Rhineland-Pfalz are still well above normal for early March.

Temperatures will continue to fall toward normal through Tuesday as cooler air arrives.
Highs on Tuesday will be held just below 4 C (40 F) in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and 4-8 C (40-46 F) elsewhere in the country.
Temperatures may rebound later in the week before gusty winds usher in another shot of cooler air for next weekend.
