The United Kingdom has been subject to a "Jekyll-and-Hyde" weather pattern this week, which, like the famous fictional doctor, had both a nice and a nasty side.
A likely tornado was spotted in Sheffield Tuesday as storms battered parts of Yorkshire, according to the Yorkshire Post.
Lightning and thunderstorms battered the county, bringing torrential rains and flooding to Manchester, where a Champions League game between Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach was postponed, the International Business Times reported.

According to the Independent, the city of Gravesend, situated about an hour east of London, saw temperatures approaching 94 degrees Fahrenheit, making Tuesday the hottest the day of 2016, and hottest September day since 1911.
"It’s amazing," one sunbather told Reuters. "Just lovely to get out in September and enjoy the sunshine."
"Well it’s a nightmare when you’re commenting," said another, "but when you’re sitting like this in the park, it’s absolutely divine. But it won’t last; it never does in England."

He’s right, says weather.com meteorologist Brian Donegan.
"A cold front will sweep through the U.K. Friday, yielding a rainy and cool finish to the work week. High temperatures will only be in the 60s Fahrenheit with overnight lows falling into the 50s Fahrenheit. No significant warm-ups are expected over the next week."
