Tropical Storm Ian formed late Monday morning in the central Atlantic Ocean, well to the northeast of the Lesser Antilles and southeast of Bermuda.
The storm is no threat to the Lesser Antilles, Bermuda or the United States, since it should move northward into the open Atlantic Ocean during the next several days.

Current Storm Information
- Tropical Storm Ian was located over 650 miles east-northeast of Bermuda, as of Wednesday night.
- Ian is expected to strengthen slightly over the next day or so, as it moves north then northeast into the open Atlantic, but will likely lose its tropical characteristics on Friday.
- This system poses no threat to any land masses over the next five days. It's likely to spin harmlessly across the open waters of the Atlantic.
