Severe Storms, Heavy Rain Threaten Midwest

Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding will threaten the Midwest through the first half of this week.
Additional strong to severe storms are possible Tuesday into Wednesday as the tail end of a cold front stalls and a new low-pressure system develops.

Severe Weather Forecast

Tuesday
  • Forecast: A few strong to severe storms may develop in southern Minnesota, northern Iowa and southwest Wisconsin.
  • Threats: Large hail and damaging winds.
  • Cities: Fort Dodge, Iowa | Rochester, Minnesota
Wednesday
  • Forecast: Severe storms may erupt in portions of eastern Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, southern Minnesota, Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. Significant flash flooding may also develop in parts of those states.
  • Threats: Damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain are the main concerns.
  • Cities: Minneapolis | Omaha | Sioux Falls, South Dakota
