Potentially severe storms will keep heat at bay across Wales and western England while dry, warm weather will hold from South East to the East Midlands.
A warm front over the western half of the British Isles will bring wet weather Tuesday through Thursday.
Rainy periods are expected across Northern Ireland and Scotland during this time, with no thunder expected until Thursday afternoon.

However, it will be a different story for Wales and western England.
"Thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon and evening will have the potential to be strong from Liverpool and Manchester to Cardiff and Bristol," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.
"Storms will have the potential to bring hail, damaging winds and torrential downpours that could lead to flash flooding problems across the region," he said.
Any individual thunderstorm could be strong enough to bring wind gusts up to 60 mph. Across the area, widespread rainfall amounts up to 25 mm (1 inch). Some localized rainfall amounts to 50 mm (2 inches) will be possible.
A similar setup on Wednesday afternoon and evening will bring the risk of severe weather to the same area.

Any place that receives heavy rain on Tuesday will be more susceptible to flash flooding on Wednesday.
While thundery showers are possible again on Thursday afternoon, they will be weaker and more isolated.
Meanwhile, the continued dry weather along the eastern shores will promote summerlike heat.
In areas of England from South East to the East Midlands, the mercury rise into the lower 30s C (upper 80s F) on Tuesday, likely the hottest day for this week.
Highs will be about 10 C (22 F) higher than average for this time of the year in London on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Hottest Septembers: how this week compares

"While these temperatures are well above normal for the middle of September, they will likely fall short of the all-time September records," Roys said.
The record high for England in September is 35.6 C (96 F) in Bawtry.
Heat will begin to subside on Thursday and Friday in southeastern England. By the end of the week, more unsettled weather will move in for the start of London Fashion week on Friday.
