A heat wave will make for steamy conditions at New York Fashion Week 2016 through the start of the weekend.
A semi-annual event, Fashion Week will feature spring/summer 2017 collections from iconic designers including Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Monique Lhuillier, Tom Ford and Marchesa. Official shows will take place at the Skylight at Moynihan Station, Skylight at Clarkson Square, MADE @ Milk Studios, F.Y.I. @ MADE and the Shop at NYFW.

As the event unfolds, heat will grip the New York City area through the start of the weekend.

Humidity levels will be higher than normal for this time of year, but not oppressive.
"Summer will be hanging on a little bit longer," AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.
Drier conditions are expected for the first half of the weekend, making for easy travel weather for those moving between venues.
However, storms could move into the region Saturday night and linger into Sunday morning before drier weather returns on Sunday afternoon.
Stifling heat caused several models to faint at Kanye West's show earlier this week. Temperatures soared into the upper 80s on Wednesday. Under the hot sun at Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island, some models had to sit down during the show. Others were given water by attendees.

Heading into next week, conditions will cool off and humidity will subside. Temperatures will hover in the upper 70s, near average for this time of year, on Monday and Tuesday.
