Heat will subside across England for the end of the week as cool air and a soggy conditions unfold for the start of London Fashion Week.
The record heat will begin to wane across England on Thursday as unsettled weather approaches.
Temperatures soared across southeastern England on Tuesday, with some locations experiencing the hottest day of the year.
In southeastern England, including London, temperatures will reach 29 C (85 F) on Thursday with sunshine and summerlike conditions for much of the day.
On Thursday afternoon, a front could move in with an isolated thundershower. Thundery showers will continue throughout Thursday night as it remains generally cloudy.
For the first day of London Fashion Week on Friday, dull and gloomy weather will loom.
"There will be showers and some rumbles of thunder around throughout the morning," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.

Less than 7 mm (0.25 of an inch) of rain is expected in most areas, which will not helping the rain deficit in southeastern England.
As of 14 September, London received about 12 mm (0.5 of an inch) of rain since the beginning of the month, about a third of what is typically accumulates by this time in September.
Southeastern England also finished the month of August with below-normal rainfall.
After the front passes, it will remain rather cloudy across the region into the afternoon with few bright spells. However, it will feel more comfortable.
"It will be noticeably cooler on Friday in London," Roys said. "Temperatures will be around 12 C (21 F) degrees cooler in London on Friday afternoon than it was late in the day on Tuesday."
