Temperatures will approach record highs into the new week in Seattle.
"Excessive heat will continue across the Northwest into early next week," AccuWeather Meteorologist Ben Noll said. "High temperatures will average 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit above normal."
Daytime highs will settle in the low to middle 90s F through Monday; a common high temperature for early July in Seattle is in the mid-70s.

Plenty of sunshine is forecast over the next week in the city.
Any chance for storms in the coming week will be restricted to the evenings across only the highest terrain, according to Noll.
